What a weird year we have just been through! Activities curtailed, lockdowns, you name it! The oldest 4×4 club in Southern Africa, LROC is a family-orientated club, exclusively for Land Rover enthusiasts. If you are a Land Rover owner, the chances are that you share with all LROC members a love of the great outdoors and an enjoyment of driving your vehicle to interesting, exciting and often remote places. The Land Rover Owners Club of Southern Africa offers two events per month and a multitude of trips, from shorter weekend getaways and breakfast runs, to longer trans-African expeditions and tours. The Mercedes G Club is an association in the southern African region for four-wheel-drive enthusiasts with an interest in the Geländewagen. We arrange functions and trips ranging from four wheel drive training to day and weekend trips into a scenic part of our beautiful country. We enjoy the outdoors and try to make a positive contribution towards the protection of our natural resources. We also like people and thus enjoy engaging with other clubs and associations. Bridgestone 4×4 Club Challenge – keeping it real This 4×4 competition, based on production vehicles and featuring the best teams of ten 4×4 clubs in South Africa, is today is popular as ever. Born in 2007 as the Bridgestone Fundi Challenge, and initially featuring a regular field of up to 60 teams that competed in various events around South Africa, the competition received a major overhaul at the beginning of 2013, including the ten 4×4 and off-road clubs – and introducing a plethora of new teams to the competition. We are a Gauteng based Club with +- 70 paid up members from in and around the greater Gauteng. We focus on promoting social off road driving with the aim on including all family members. The Club has 5 qualified and certified trainers/assessors and training on Unit Standards 254135 and 235154 is offered to any person interested.
