The Bucklands 4 x 4 family event will happen every Easter Weekend! The programme makes room for the whole family, but those looking for something serious will have more than enough adrenalin flowing to make it worth their while.
We make room for alternative entertainment for those who choose not to ride all day, so those wanting to relax will have loads of activities to entertain them!
Most meals will be catered for, so the everyone can relax and enjoy some free time!
Programme:
Friday, 14 April 2017:
Arrival and registration from 09h00. Friday is mostly for arrival and settling in at Bucklands, meet old and new friends while setting up camp and do a bit of nesskrop, while we wait for people coming from far. Families have to provide their own meals for the day, but the evening meal will be catered for.
Afternoon programme 14h00: Short Course Speed Trials and Blinddoek Bundu Bash for couples will get the weekend going. Kids who want to, can swim and kayak nearby under supervision.
Evening Braai 18h00: Braai Packs provided (included in the weekend price, as all meals for the weekend from this time forward).Saturday, 15 April 2017:

Scenic Drive with short historic talk: 09h00 to 10h30- Broken Dam Drive: 10h30 to 12h30

- Supporters Programme from 14h30, supporters will be fetched from Bokskuur by sheep lorry.
- Sand Dune Drive and Vark Pan Ploeg (Mud Jol): 15h00 to 17h00
- Supper: 18h00 Spitbraai
- Langarm Skuur Dance: 19h30 till not too late.

Supporters Programme from 14h30 to 17h00: Will include a health talk with products on sale by Jeanetta Marais, owner of the well known The Hideaway Spa close by. For the bush cooks among you, there will be a traditional Roosterkoek baking demonstration in our Bush Kitchen.

The first leg of the drive is up the Cockscomb Mountain where we will stop for the view and a brief historic talk.
Then we depart down the southern side to visit the Boer War Museum at Mount Ingwe Farm Stay in Elandsrivier. Here is a cash bar for a cold beer or coke. Lukas van der Merwe, the owner, will take us through the museum.
From Mount Ingwe we depart up the Elandsrivier road to the Patensie Tower, where we turn right and 4×4 down to the Groot Riviers Poort (15 km will take about an hour and a half).
In the Poort we will have lunch, swim and spend some time relaxing under the trees. By 15h30 we depart for Bucklands where we will have Potjiekos at 18h00. Evening Prize Giving Ceremony: 19h00.

- Depart for Vate se Gat: 09h00. Family time at Vate se Gat.

Last chance to drive the Sand Dunes, swim in the river and relax. Play golf on the worlds shortest golf course: Hit a charity ball from Heuningkop to a target in the river bed. Gong shooting from Heuningkop: Money goes to charity.
Lunch back on the farm: 13h00. Pack up camp and depart after lunch. Guests are free to sleep another night and leave early Tuesday morning, but no meals are provided after Monday lunch.

- Your own camping gear such as caravans, campers, tents, etc.
- Mattresses, sleeping bags, towels, etc.
- Hats, sun cream, swimming costumes
- Camera’s, binoculars, bird books
- Electric 12V pump for sand driving
- Campers and Chalet guests must bring a folding chair for each person in their vehicle.
- Your own snacks and cold drinks for in between meals (there will be a cash bar with drinks and sweets, but with limited choices).

- Vehicle per day: R250
- Person camping per day: R100 per person per day (children under 12 pay R50)
- Chalets: R300 per person per day
- Per Main Meal: R100
- Per Light Meal: R50

Vehicle Cost: A charge of R250 per day, per vehicle is charged. R1 000 for the 4 days. Camping for the full weekend: R950 per person (including all meals but excluding vehicle cost). Chalet for full weekend: R1 550 per person (including all meals but excluding vehicle cost). Meals: All meals are traditional Karoo food. Vegetarians will be catered for if so requested on entry form.
