Land Cruiser 200vx D 2012 Power Loss

I drive a Land Cruiser 200vx D 2012. I have fitted an ARB deluxe bulbar at Safari 4×4. Since then I have had power loss issues, especially when I’m towing something.

Whenever the car comes up to temperature, normally after about 30-50km (depending on the weather outside) the car loses power. The temperature gauge does not go above normal.

I took it to Toyota where they connected it to their computer but could not pick anything up. This has been going on for the last 6 months already.

Please can you assist me, especially if you have had similar queries or even better tell me what the problem may be?

Hi VenterS from your query this is real head scratcher. First and foremost, when they fitted the bulbar, did they weld anything with disconnecting battery/ies? Was any of the wiring loom that passes the area where they worked on damaged or was a routing changed that might have slightly dislodged a plug. These vehicles have a multitude of sensors all over so something might have got upset along the way. Your best bet is to check wherever possible also if some sensors were relocated when bulbar was fitted if all is sound and properly connected. Sometimes it difficult to get to these areas so cover panels would probably need to be removed to get access. Good hunting. Let us know the outcome if you solve this malady. Might help others with similar problem. :cheer:
