    Hey all
My wife and I are looking at overlanding through Mozambique and into Tanzania in the next few months, but we are unsure about how each border works, and all the nitty gritty details that comes with each country’s regulations. Anyone been through these borders and can give us some help??

    Hey 4x4buff

In regards to border regulations, you can check out an article in our March 2014 issue called “Border Basics” that details general tips for traveling in Africa. We have a snippet of the article on our website here: https://www.sa4x4.co.za/border-basics/

But basically, you should be fine traveling through Mozambique and Tanzania with a standard South African passport and using US dollars

Just be careful not to total your 4×4 in Mozambique! Boet I totaled my Landy there about a year ago and it was story after story about why it couldn’t be brought back to SA. Mooi country though, it was really an awesome time, besides that incident!!
