I have a 2003 Prado diesel (120) with 430, 000km on the clock! I was told that the first new shape Prados were assembled in Australia and I think, therefore, only had the clutch replaced at 400, 000km. It still has the original silencer system on! No other major problems.

Must I have the Turbo overhauled? It is not giving any problems and pulls well, with good diesel consumption but with that may kilos I’m just wondering.

Hi BredellJ this really sounds awesome, this goes to show that if you look after it, it will last. 430000km is no joke and I’m sure you have more faith in this vehicle than anything else. To be honest with you I would go with “if it ain’t broke don’t fiddle with it” All said and done drive it and keep your ears and eyes open. If it sounds off or leaks fluid then you need to do something. I read a couple of stories where guys have done 1,5mil km with vehicles with maybe 1 or 2 overhauls which doesn’t sound bad but then these are drive with care and maintained which is the biggest factor in the equation. Hope it gives many more trouble free kms.
