I purchased a second hand Scorpio SUV and my dashboard is very sticky. I have clean it with domestos and some other under the sink products but after a few days I have the same problem – a sticky dashboard!

Anyone had the same experience? Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can use?

yes.

the cleaning products you have used has eaten away at the protective UV layer on the dash mount.

you need to take it into the dealership for them to service the car with their wax/polish.

can i assume that you dont have a screen visor? the reflective silver one? is the car left unshaded?

Someone on the weekend recommended benzine? What are your thoughts on that?

nooo!

As far as i know benzine will dry out the dashboard even more.

this may cause the dash to crack in the sun.

 

Ofcoure you can always do things the cost effective way. which does come with its own pro’s and con’s. just remember. “goed koop is deur koop” as the Afrikaners would say.

which means basically means cheaper isnt always better.

Take it to a dealership. because im willing to bet that you’re not the only person in SA with this problem. and certainly they would have seen a few cases like yours.
