I’ve recently bought a secondhand Ford Ranger from a dealership and it had this 4pin female connector sticking out of the dashboard. The guys at the dealership have no idea what it’s for and for some reason the previous owner doesn’t respond to their calls or messages.

So does anyone know what this connector is for?

Johan, this is a power connector for an old Garmin GPS V. I still have mine – but obviously haven’t used it in years. I can remember paying quite a lot for it all those years ago.

    Hi Johan.

Mike is quite correct. That Garmin GPS V was (is) damn good – pity the small screen forced me to upgrade to the Nuvi series just so I could read the tiny text, but I am happy with the Nuvi too. I liked the feature of saving tracks covered.

    Cheers,

    Peter
