The Next-Generation Ford Ranger Raptor has arrived, built for off-road enthusiasts by Ford Performance. It raises the off-road performance bar and is the ultimate performance derivative of the Next-Generation Ranger.
It blends power with precision and features smarter technology controlling tougher, next-generation hardware.
More power to play
The new Ranger Raptor comes with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6 petrol engine that produces 292kW and 583Nm of torque. The engine features a compacted graphite-iron cylinder block that is 75 percent stronger and stiffer than traditional iron. It delivers immediate response to throttle inputs and a race-bred anti-lag system that keeps the turbochargers spinning for up to three seconds after the driver backs off the throttle. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that has a boost profile for each gear. The Next-Gen Ranger Raptor also features an electronically controlled active exhaust system that ranges from mild to wild in four selectable drive modes (Quiet, Normal, Sport and Baja).
Drivers can choose their preferred engine sound by pressing the exhaust mode button on the steering wheel or by selecting a drive mode that uses one of the following settings:
- Quiet – Designed to prioritise quietness over performance and sound. Great for keeping the peace with neighbours on early mornings
- Normal – Intended for everyday use, this profile offers an exhaust note with presence while not being too loud for street use. This profile is applied by default to Normal, Slippery, Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl modes
- Sport – Offers a louder and more aggressive note, for when you want to shake things up a little
- Baja – The most aggressive of the exhaust profiles in both volume and note. It behaves more like a straight-through system in this setting and is intended for off-road use only
The Next-Gen Ranger Raptor features a unique chassis and suspension designed to handle punishing off-road conditions. The chassis is reinforced with unique mounts and frames, including those for the C-pillar, load box, and spare wheel. Meanwhile, the suspension is completely redesigned, featuring all-new lightweight aluminium control arms, long-travel front and rear suspension, and a refined Watt’s link rear end for better control at high speeds.
The suspension upgrades are complemented by next-generation FOX 2.5-inch Live Valve Internal Bypass shock absorbers. These cutting-edge shock absorbers offer position-sensitive damping capability and are filled with Teflon-infused oil, reducing friction by 50 percent compared to previous models. The result is exceptional on-road body control and the ability to absorb rough terrain with ease, ensuring maximum control and performance off-road.
The Next-Gen Ranger Raptor’s suspension has been completely redesigned with new lightweight aluminium upper and lower control arms, long-travel front and rear suspension, and refined Watt’s link rear end to handle off-road conditions. The next-generation FOX 2.5-inch Live Valve Internal Bypass shock absorbers are filled with Teflon-infused oil that reduces friction by around 50%, allowing the suspension to adapt in real-time, providing exceptional on-road body control while absorbing off-road obstacles with ease.
The system has three settings: Normal, Sport, and Off-Road. The specially-tuned electronic power-assisted steering (EPAS) system has four steering modes, including Comfort, Sport, Normal, and Off-Road, with improvements in steering effort, response, and precision. The Next-Gen Ranger Raptor also features serious underbody protection and twin rated tow hooks at the front and rear.
All terrain control
Next-Gen Ranger Raptor features a new advanced permanent four-wheel drive system with an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case. Its default driving mode is 4A (Automatic) which adjusts the drive flow between the front and rear axles for improved traction. The driver can select 2H mode for rear-wheel drive or 4H for four-wheel drive. The vehicle also offers seven selectable drive modes, including Baja mode for extreme high-speed off-roading, where electronic systems are configured for ultimate performance.
Each selectable drive mode adjusts a wide range of vehicle parameters, from engine and transmission to ABS sensitivity and calibration, traction and stability controls, exhaust valve actuation, steering, throttle response and even the instrument cluster and centre touchscreen. And, depending on the mode, the graphics and colour scheme of the digital displays changes to match the mode.
On-road
- Normal – designed for comfort, fuel efficiency and drivability
- Sport – more responsive for spirited on-road driving
- Slippery – for more confident driving on slippery or uneven surfaces
Off-road
- Rock Crawl – providing optimum traction and momentum on loose surfaces
- Sand – for use in soft sand and deep snow conditions, optimising power delivery and transmission shifts
- Mud/Ruts – for maximum grip off-road during launch and maintaining vehicle momentum
- Baja – tuned for high-speed off-road performance with all systems set for maximum attack
Next-Gen Ranger Raptor has Trail Control™, acting as cruise control for off-roading, and a new ‘R’ button on the steering wheel, activating MyMode settings for customisation. MyMode pre-sets every aspect of the vehicle’s performance for unique preferences and determines drive mode, steering, suspension, and exhaust settings, stability and traction control status, along with Trail Control.
High-energy design
Next-Gen Ranger Raptor has a new design with flared wheel arches, Ford truck DNA C-clamp headlights, bold F-O-R-D lettering, and a bumper separated from the grille. It features Matrix LED headlights with dynamic bending lights and glare-free high beam. The 17-inch wheels are wrapped in 285/70 R17 BF Goodrich all-terrain KO2 tyres. LED taillights and a precision grey rear bumper with an integrated step pad and towbar complete the look.
The Next-Gen Ranger Raptor comes in colours including Code Orange, Conquer Grey, Arctic White, Absolute Black, Blue Lightning, Aluminium Metallic, Meteor Grey, and Sedona Orange. The jet fighter-inspired sports seats provide more comfort and support during high-speed cornering, with Code Orange accents on the instrument panel, trim, and seats. The model has a high resolution 12.4-inch digital cluster and a 12-inch centre touchscreen with Ford’s new-generation SYNC® 4A connectivity, including Apple and Android wireless smartphone connectivity and wireless charging. Type A and Type C USB charging and data ports are provided in the front centre console.
Rear passengers have USB charging ports, a 400-Watt inverter, and a 10-speaker 660W Bang & Olufsen® sound system. The 12-inch touchscreen includes a 360-degree camera system with split-view display, and an Off-road SYNC screen to toggle selected 4×4 features and display off-road driving information.

Driver assist technologies
The Next-Gen Ranger Raptor is equipped with Ford’s latest safety technologies, including Lane Keeping System with Lane Keeping Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centring. The Blind Spot Information System with Trailer Coverage supports trailers up to 2.4 metres wide and 10 metres long. The vehicle also features Evasive Steer Assist, which provides steering support to help drivers avoid collisions.
Next-Gen Ranger Raptor features Active Park Assist 2.0, which helps drivers safely park with the press of a button, steering, shifting gears, accelerating and braking as needed. The Pre-Collision Assist with Dynamic Brake Support, Forward Collision Warning and Automated Emergency Braking can automatically apply the brakes to avoid or mitigate the effects of accidents. Reverse Brake Assist helps drivers reverse by providing warnings and can bring the vehicle to a complete stop if needed. In case of a collision, Post-Collision Braking applies brake pressure to reduce injury, damage and secondary collisions.
