You might have come across an Atlasware flask before and wondered what the story behind it is. Well, back in 1987, a man named Victor Kingston began producing the very first Atlasware flasks in Chennai, India. Initially, he travelled by bus, selling them in small quantities. Today, he has three factories and exports Atlasware products around the world, including to here in SA.
Atlasware flasks are incredibly tough and carry a lifetime guarantee. They come in four sizes, and can keep liquids cold for up to 24 hours, and hot drinks warm for up to 18 hours. That’s pretty impressive, considering the simple design, involving an insulating layer wedged between two layers of 304 grade stainless steel.
The current South African distributors first heard about them from friends living in Dubai. Starting in 2011 with a shipment of 6 000 bottles, often sold out of a car boot, they now have a network of agents distributing this awesome product all over the country.
The bottles come in a range of colours and are invaluable tools for long overland journeys, whatever your brew.
