In this review video, we test out the brand-new 12kg 220V portable icemaker from SnoMaster.
Although SnoMaster offers a wide range of icemakers – from household to industrial applications – this newly launched 220V portable unit certainly hits the sweet spot for most caravaners, campers, and households alike.
This is thanks to its competitive price point, local availability, low power consumption, and impressive autonomy.
While the unit does require 220V AC power to operate – typically available at most campsites – it can also be powered off-grid using an inverter. This is because the icemaker only draws 85W, or 0.55 amps. The new icemaker is incredibly economical and can easily be moved between your home and caravan.
Product dimensions are 285mm high, 225mm wide, and 294mm long. It features a plastic stainless steel finish designed to match your other kitchen appliances. Weighing just 6.63kg, it includes an external, easy-to-use digital control panel and is supplied with a white plastic ice basket and an ice scoop.

This icemaker produces nine bullet-shaped ice cubes – either transparent or regular – every 15 minutes. The catchment basket holds up to 45 ice cubes (0.6kg). To understand the difference between regular and transparent ice, be sure to watch the video above.
How to Use the SnoMaster 12KG Countertop Portable Icemaker ZBC-14B
When your unit arrives, simply give it a wipe with a clean cloth, plug it in, and pour water into the bottom tray – ensuring the drainage plug is securely in place. Once switched on, the machine automatically pumps the water from the tray into the freezing chamber. After around 15 minutes, the chamber empties the ice into the basket above the drainage tray – just as shown in the video. A LED will illuminate when the ice basket is full or when you need to add more water.
Important notes:
- Do not cover the compressor vents on the left and right sides of the machine, as this may cause overheating.
- Always keep the icemaker level during use.
- Switch off the unit when not in use.
