If Instagram is too 21st Century, email your pic to editor@sa4x4.co.za with the subject line Overland Images and we will post it on Instagram for you. There is no limit to the number of entries you can submit, nor does your equipment matter: whether you are using a pro-style DSLR or your mobile phone, it’s the quality of the image that counts.
The picture that gets the most votes on Instagram gets the monthly Readers’ Choice prize of camping gear from Ironman 4×4 worth up to R4000.
The competition runs for 12 months, after which a panel of judges will select the best entries. First prize, worth R26 000, is a seven-night overland photographic safari for two people with Will Jansen of Will of Africa Adventures. The route departs from Pretoria for Gonarezhou in Zimbabwe, and includes visits to Lake Kyle and the Great Zimbabwe ruins.
Second prize is a BD/C 65-litre low-profile stainless steel fridge-freezer from Snomaster worth R9000. It’s just the thing to keep your next travel experience properly chilled.
